The contacting of the press-fit connector to the PCB is achieved by pressing a flexible press-fit in a metallized via hole of the PCB. The soldering is omitted and there is a gas-tight electrical connection, which is characterized by high reliability, durability and low production costs.
In contrast to the massive press-moldability of the flexible press-in eye-of-the-needle design reduces the load on the circuit board when pressed.
The dual row connector 314PF has 4 to 80 contact positions with a pressfit length of 2,9 mm. The length of the 0,5 x 0,5 mm square pins on the insulating body is made variable with 1,65 mm, 1,9 mm, 3,2 mm and 8,2 mm. The contact material consists of CUSN6 (C5191), either tin or gold plated with nickel layer, the insulator is made of high temperature resistant plastic according to UL 94 V-0. Safe operation is in a temperature range from -40 to +105 °C possible.
Application areas include primarily backplanes in the housing and measuring technology, telecommunications and embedded computing.
